Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, Review

Posted in Uncategorized by wink on December 2, 2005

This movie followed the general plot from the book. I think HP book fans will like it more than the third movie. The scenes were very exciting and fast.
The first scene, Harry’s dream was very well acted out.
The task with the hungarian horntail dragon will keep you on your toes, but it was really silly when the dragon climbed around the tower to get to Harry, as if its afraid of heights and couldn’t fly around it.
The second task, in the lake was also realy cool but instead of Winky, Neville gave Harry the gillyweed and made the scene more funny.

All the young actors were cute and played their roles really well.
However, the characterization of some characters and some scenes were a bit disappointing.
– In the movie, Dumbledore was a bit too rough on Harry and acted too authoritative than wise and gentle, as according to the book.
– Hermione looked really pretty especially at the Yule Ball, but at other times, could you say, she looked a bit too pretty. She didn’t even have bushy hair!
– I was a bit disappointed with how Voldemort turned out, I expected him to be taller at least, and maybe uglier.
– The maze for the third task was way too easy, there were only creeping plants instead of boggart(disguised as dementor), giant spider and sphinx.

Well, overall, I really liked this movie, especially in contrast to the third movie. Like every HP fan, I’d recommend you guys to buy the DVD so you can watch it over and over again.
